Notion has taken the world by storm: The product is that good. At my company (Standard Data), we love it. We put all of our ideas, designs, archives, notes, etc… in there. And we also happen to be in the business of spinning up SaaS products quickly and efficiently. So one day we thought, “Is it possible to turn our product notes into product sites? 👀”.

Existing products in the market weren’t great (not SEO-optimized, hard to use, didn’t work, automated deploys — which isn’t the feature it’s marketed to be, who wants to edit a LIVE site with people watching? 🤦‍♂️): Using our knowledge of cloud development, we’ve built the very best solution for deploying Notion pages as super fast, SEO optimized, manually deployable, and crazy scalable websites: Motion — The Notion-page website service.

To show you, I’m going to walk you through how we deployed our Motion site, on Motion!

First thing’s first, setup your Motion account at https://console.motion.build

After creating an account and logging in, you’ll be redirected to Motion’s homepage, where you’ll be able to view and edit all of your created sites. Get started by hitting the ‘Add a Site’ button in the top right of the screen and enter your site information:

Once your site has been created you’ll need to change your domain DNS settings. Navigate to the site you purchased your domain on (i.e. Godaddy or similar) and go to the domain’s settings. Edit the records by adding the 2 CNAME Records found on your sites settings in Motion:

Finally, to make your site accessible at the root domain (non-www), you’ll need to forward your domain to the www subdomain — please check with your domain provider for instructions on this.

And it’s that simple. Please visit https://motion.build for walkthroughs and further product info. We are always seeking feedback and working to improve the experience for our customers, so please reach out to me at dillon@motion.build to send questions, comments, or feature requests.
